Well the OpCom Code Reader i got on eBay turned up today Can't get it to work on the Laptop. Followed instructions sent but program doesn't follow like it is written down. Even followed link to activate online, as this is what you have to do before using it for the first time. This won't let you activate it either. Sent a contact to the seller and am waitin for an answer. Anyone else had one of these off eBay and had the same problem?? If you have how did you get it to work?? Been waiting for a while for reply from seller

This is what came in the box. I checked some of the websites mentioned on the bottom of Instructions and one of them say's that they don't ever list on eBay. The instruction look like they have been typed on a pc then printed out, plus in brackets it look like a code which might be an activation code. This doesn't work though Plus what's on the sofware disc (which to me looks fake) doesn't make sence with what's on these instructions. Couldn't find scanner lead to had to take picture with camera. Looks like it was too big also looking at picture above.

Not seen that before Try ... open the file where you copied the disc into, then open activate .exe then find ..Special .. double cluck on that follow your nose, with luck it will lead to a small box with the activation code, write it down, then close all the boxes. Open op com choose a random year, vehicle, etc when asked for enter the code.

There's nothing like what you mentioned. I went into program and put what i think is a code on the instructions and it does nothing.
I'll have to see if i get a reply from the seller.

There are many different types of software around to run these code readers. Easy to find them if you search on the web. Might be worth giving it a bash with another programme...good luck..

Had a reply from the seller this morning. They asked if i followed the instructions that were sent. Just replied back that "YES" followed instructions, but they make no sense with the files on the software. Just have to see if i get another reply. I don't always worry about the feedback as it wasn't that many "negs" for the seller with the amount of sales. You can't please everyone and some people make more of the problem than it really is. I paid with Paypal so should have some cover with them. I'm sure there's someone in Guildford on here who could go knock on his front door if i get no joy

Not had any communication from this seller sinse he asked if i followed the instructions, which i told him in the 1st email i sent. Just shows he didn't read the email i sent him, or he's a bit thick.
Can't find a program on the internet, so can anyone let me have a copy??

If I remeber correctly, You have to have a car plugged in so that you can get to the activation page that A friend said about, Diagnostics, special, etc
Mine was the same but once activated, works wonders, (don't it Bernie).

I've had reply from seller about code reader.
He emailled me the intructions again and told me to look for updates and might find a free program or will have to buy a new program.
Told him that it's not good enough and want full refund.
Car now gone to garage on Flat bed lorry yesterday. Need it for the 26th as i'm taking my lad to Cardiff to the Speedway GP. Hopefully garage will get it sorted by then. Thay not let me down in the last 10 - 12 years. Just didn't want to spend out anymore, but looks like i'll have to.

Thats a bugger, sorry to see you are having that much bad luck bud, keep us up to speed please. Sale of Goods Act springs to mind,as everything sold in UK has to be fit for purpose,a lot of copy & paste then forward his comments to Ebay

Hi Craig As A friend says, I would see about getting a full refund with regard to this as you brought it in good faith, and it's not fit for the purpose you brought it, So I think you should be entitled to ALL your money back ebay's role when you need to resolve a Problem What we do * Since it's usually best for members to resolve issues directly, we provide guidelines for requesting contact information and communicating with your trading partner . * If direct communication isn't possible, our Resolution Centre helps you start and track a case to resolve the problem with your trading partner. If you paid with PayPal, you'll use PayPal's Resolution Center. * When you pay with PayPal on eBay, you're backed by PayPal's Buyer Protection. * When suspicious activity is reported, our Trust and Safety team investigates the situation. If members violate an eBay policy, we warn them and may restrict or suspend their account. * We cooperate with all law enforcement investigations. Law enforcement agencies can report information to eBay using a web form designed for law enforcement only. If you're not in law enforcement, open a case in our Resolution Centre. What we don't do
*
We can’t take action on a member's behalf. For example, we don't contact a member directly to ask about the status of an item. *
We can't force a member to complete his or her obligation. Hope that helps
