Re: Back after absence with new fronty and new problems lolI tried using 'my text check' when I went to see the car but it came back saying nothing on database. I used a proper hpi check thing online and it all came back ok. Still waiting on them posting me the documents. Hopefully all is ok and I get the docs in due course. I'll keep you posted and let you know what happens when I get the docs through and get the fronty re-MOT'd. Cheers

Re: Back after absence with new fronty and new problems lolgoodluck mate , hope it all gets sorted out
Re: Back after absence with new fronty and new problems lolWell...I FINALLY HAVE THE PAPERWORK...only taken 3 weeks
There's a few problems by the looks of it too. First....The MOT. It was mot'd on the 21st of May at 4:45pm with 96,374miles on the clock. I picked it up on the 25th with 99,987. Seems a big jump in mileage in just over 3 full days. 'seems a bit suspect' thats a hell of a lot of driving. I've driven from my house to the south coast of england and back in one journey before and that was only 1200 miles but took 22 hours 'including rest stops'. Second....The exhaust rear section fell off due to being totally rusted through Third....2 bad gearbox oil leaks Fourth....the timing belt had supposedly just been done....it was 20k ago! Fifth.....Full vx service history....no! the service book has been marked as self service for most of the intervals and all seems to been have done in the same writing and pen although the car has had 11 owners according to the log book. Sixth....The advisory note for the MOT says that there is slight play in the front wheel bearings. I was told there was no advisory note issued with the MOT. Seventh....As I mentioned in an earlier post. I had to spend nearly £200 to get the rear end rewired due to none of the lights working properly. Any ideas as to what I should do? I can fix all the problems myself although it will take time as I've lost my job and money is very tight. I could contact VOSA and suggest it has a dodgy MOT and then possibly end up with a car and no MOT. I could contact trading standards who would investigate but again, I could end up out of pocket and no MOT. The way it's looking I'm gonna cut my losses and just live with it as I have another sport up the driveway to use for parts. That would give me wheel bearings etc but it's the earlier model with leaf springs Always out numbered, never out gunned
Re: Back after absence with new fronty and new problems lolHi Dave..
I think I would get legal advice here... sorry not much help
Re: Back after absence with new fronty and new problems lolat the end of the day mate youve brought a car supposedly with a full mot & it certainly appears that theres no way your car should of been issued with 1 with the car in the state it was in, i would of been in touch with vosa after submitting it to a proper mot testing station & present them with what sounds like a large list of faults, anyone of which would of failed your car from passing in the 1st place
by reading a lot of new members [me being 1 of them] posts on the site we all seem to have a few teething problems with our frontys in 1 form or another & i personally treat "getting them sorted out" as a bit of a hobby even though i dont actually do any of the work myself good luck whatever way you go & keep us posted on any progress you make WHY AINT I GOT AN ALL SINGING & ALL DANCING SIGNATURE LIKE BOXY & DRIFTY ?

Re: Back after absence with new fronty and new problems lolI think I'll keep hold of it and sort the problems myself. At the end of the day I can do all if not most of the work myself. I have the time and any tools I could need, the only thing lacking is money although I do have another car for spares. At least I'll have done all the work myself and know it's done right. I'll just need to do it bit by bit as and when money is available. There is no way the car should have passed an MOT and the mileage between the mot and when I bought it just doesn't add up, but the bodywork is mint and so is the chassis and brakes, everything else can be fixed in time. Thanks for all the replies folks and believe me, this is a very big lesson learned. cheers, Davie

Re: Back after absence with new fronty and new problems lolHi
My brother is having the same problem. He purchased a car from the same garage you purchased yours from in Bradford almost a week ago. He payed £995 cash as that was all they would accept no cards. Bassically he has been sold a car that he cant drive as it has major issues wrong with it and isnt safe to drive..our local garage has told us to take it back as it isnt worth fixing. The garage wont take responsibility, they claim the boss who owned the garage when he bought it no longer works there when it is clearly his voice on the phone but he keeps changing his name. He has become abusive and threatening and we have now had to report it to the police and trading standards. Was wondering if you reported it and if you managed to solve it as we dont want this person to get away with it as it seams they have done it a few times before! There is alot more to this story but we dont want to say much more over the internet..so would like to get in touch with you.
Re: Back after absence with new fronty and new problems lolchange your paypal password that sound like a scam.
second do not send any money until you have spoke to the seller and a lawyer . end of the day trading standards will not pay your money back and if they have done anything dodgy it could take years for court etc plus the scottish and english law different. I reckon you send your money now way you gonna see it again an there is no guarantte you will get the documents . maybe phone them and calmly explain your greivence and see what they say do not threaten or get into a heated arguement keep your self right. If they give it sold as seen then say ok hang up shout at the wall. Get a lawyer an get advice make sure its a lawyer that deals with this sort of stuff before you send money or anything i would give the seller a chance to give you an answer first that way you know where you stand then explain to lawyer honestly. it me be sold as seen . did you get a reciept as it evidence 1989 Isuzu Trooper 2.6 (3.1 conversion )
