How do i go about bleeding the fuel system and what do i need to do it. Have seen a post on here, but can't seem to find it. I've got the battery off and on charge at the moment, as it pretty much died. So can't do anything until tommorrow and until i get anything i need to purge it through. Have spoken to the bloke (Trader) i bought it from and he said the warranty he gave me only covers replacement engines and gearboxes. Typical really, they don't cover anything once they got your money Cheers for any help

Give Bobbinsjob a PM, I think he mastered an easy way to bleed the system off.

Will give them a ring tommorrow.
The bloke i bought it from, said when i spoke to him that it was working when i picked it up and the faults have happened since i have had the vehicle, and basically it's down to me.
Like i said i'll have to give OFT a ring tommorrow.

That's right the Speedo wasn't working. I told him to get it fixed and i would have it. Was supposed to be fixed by the wednesday, but it wasn't. He told me that the Garage that deals with electrical side said they would order a secondhand part but couldn't give a time when it would be fixed. Now because i needed a car by the wednesday, as i had no vehicle, he said he would take £120 off the price. This might be where i haven't helped myself i think.
I had a problem years ago when i was younger with a fault on a car about a week after i bought it, OFT/trading standards even CAB said it was down to me not the garage i got it from.
A good garage/trader would put the problem right, but the way things are done today i think there aren't many left.
Like i said i will phone OFT tommorrow, but i'm not looking at it postive.

Well been intouch with OFT. They told me that yes i can send him a letter, which i can check with them once i have written it, but i would have to take it to court, and if the other issues with the vehicle are wear & tear like cracked spill pipes, battery low in Power Sounder, bulbs not working on dash, then if he saying he didn't know about them, then the fix is down to me, and not on him. The fact that he knocked money off for the faulty Speedo doesn't affect anything if i want to pursue this. Yes if i get another garage to look at the faults it takes it away from him, but it can take months to go through court costing me god knows what in fees on the chance that they will say these faults aren't down to him. Whislt i'm waiting the vehicle just has to sit on my drive, which is no good to me. The fact that i drove it down to Devon from Wales without a problem doesn't help me as it was obviously working ok to travel that distance. I think at the end of the day, i have been had over by a dodgy trader that knows his stuff. I can't afford to take this to court and have to wait months to get anywhere or find out i've just wasted my time. End of the day i think i am just going to have to learn by my mistakes and get the repairs done myself. Hopefully with the help and info on this forum will help keep the cost down. I can still send him a letter to try and scare him, but i have a feeling that it will have no effect as i think he knows how difficult it is for me to prove anything.
Some might think i'm been foolish not taken this to court, but right now i would rather put the money into getting it fixed, than lining some court or solicitors pockets.

Yep sadly I can see that,so best put it behind & get on. First things first,as you have no functioning EML best do is get a reader,so I am going to assume that you own or can access a laptop so do an Ebay search for ........ op com ......... there are several suppliers, read codes & start a new thread in 2.2 Diesel

Thanks for that. Just looked and found what you said. Ordered a fuel primer from the link you put on forum today also. Never found a forum where you get so much help and info.
