HI ALL HAVE A CRACK IN WINDSCREEN IN THE FRONTY A 1995 LWB AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED CANT GET IT ON INSURANCE HAS ANYONE HAD ONE FITTED AND HOW MUCH WAS IT

Last one I had done was RAc Autowindscreens, and it came in at £170 plus pennies...

What's the problem with getting your new one on insurance then??

If you pm bobbinsjob he may have a rough idea, I believe he may have fitted a few in his lifetime
I know he doesn't fit them now but is still in touch with a few people that are.

DO NOT GO TO AUTOGLASS!!!!! I was a fitter for them for 12 years and although they have the best fitters and the best equipment and quality glass, they also have the highest prices. Call a one man outfit in the yellow pages, they will do just as good a job for a fraction of the cost. (and you may get a toptint if you sweet talk him

I had a a chip that was just outside the limit for Autoglass to repair and was quoted £424 from their Crawley branch. However they couldn't do it that day so I asked if there were any other places on the Manor Royal Ind Est and they told me to try RAC windscreens a few hundred yards away. Nipped in and first asked if they could repair it and had the same reply as before and they quoted me £171.70 to replace it. They also didn't have one in stock but arranged to come to my home next day and fit it for the same price. The reason I had to pay is I've got motor traders policy which in my case do not give windscreen cover.

i bought a windscreen extracter kit of ebay also the 2 pack sealer, practised by taking the old one out, then went to a breakers yard and got 4 for 50 euros,as man thought i could,nt get them out, hardest part is cleaning the old gunge of the windscreen as soon as its fitted put a span band with light pressure round it for a couple of hours then hey presto! the 2 kits of ebay cost about 35 quid, ken
