Right then, I have been thinking about this for a while and on the drive up to the Midlands meet Roo mentioned it to me as well so I thought I would gauge interest. If there is enough interest I was thinking of setting up monthly Wales meets. Unfortunately the only hiccup I can see so far is that all the Wales members are spread pretty thin across Wales so finding a suitably central location for everyone may be difficult. As anyone who has driven through Wales will know even a 50 mile journey can take up to 2 hours. Obviously like other monthly meets (particularly Midlands Meets) the location will be shifted around every month to give everyone a chance to have something near to them. Idea and opinions please.

I'd travel to the meets that were arranged for the North Wales area. As you say Phil the south Wales meets maybe a bit far for me to travel though.
Cheers Dan

Personally I wouldn't like to travel further than just the other side of Aberystwyth If the meet was in South Wales Hope no one will be offended by that

Phil I wasn't going to go into why .... but seeing as you have said that... The reason why I don't wish to travel down to South Wales is that when I was learning to drive I had a crash down there and its kind of put me off, I have never driven past Aber since.. And I am not stopping anyone who want's a meet down in South Wales, but all I am saying is that I wont be driving down there

You had a crash in South Wales.... not nice. .... i had a crash in Bristol just after i learnt to drive, not that it's stopped me going there.... whats stopped me going there is its a badly designed tip Anyhow, once my oil leak is cured (Phil) and i have a new green slip i'd be up for a meeting anywhere, although i would reserve the right to bring an ordinary car, better fuel consumption. Dan, don't see why South Wales would be a problem, you'll get around easier, we have one of those motorway things the northerners haven't cottoned onto yet

There is nice scenery I would be up for meets I would have liked to come to the midlands meet, but it's a long time to leave Harvey when it's one of my days off, so gave it amiss this time, which was a shame, but if the meets are nearer, i can bring him

is there any meets going on in Wales. Gives us newbies a chance to meet some of the regulars. Was hoping for Bala but finances say otherwise.
Some people are like Slinkies... not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs

To be honest after sending out a few PM's and wotnots to various Welsh members it was deemed a little infeasible due to the relatively large distances and travel time.
To go from south to north Wales is 2+ hrs easy and even relatively short distances take some time to cover, many couldnt justify the time involved and there werent enough members in wales to make a meet worthwhile unfortunately.

I would be up for something. As you say location is the problem. I live rurally and your right when you say a 50 mile run can become a full day out. especially now toward caravan season lol.
