banter general discussions etc

The Omega Owners Forum has got this in place with a higher post count for parts
reason is people are less willing to pay for CARs without seeing/driving/checking first.
It's easy to ship out a worn spare part and then deny knowledge
Post counts are 50 for cars and 250 for parts It works, If someone is asks politely then it's at the descretion of the Admin (God Bless EM All) whether the post is allowed or deleted.

hi from ken mercer ,the newby who lives in belgium, just read this articles for sale rule which i will abide by but in some ways its a pity as i have qiute a few fronty 2.8 bits that i would sooner sell cheap to members of the group than on ebay .for me its not about making money its about helping each other out. i would value your ppinions on this and before anybody says belgium is a bit far to come, i am in england every 2 months.regards ken mercer

I'd say for private sellers leave it as it is so you know the person you are trading with in reliable and trustworthy
If the admins are getting contacted by dealers and breaking companies perhaps they could become affiliated traders to the site and pay for the privilage of selling here thus helping with the expense of running this place

I think it works alright as it is...so why change it... Maybe trade adds should be allowed, so long as they are clear that they are trade... It could be useful if local breakers yards posted when they got another fronty in or if a company has something on special offer that we might be interested in??? Just a thought anyway...

i do not like the idea of trailing through trade adverts, i like the fact i am buying off a member where i can ask other members advice on item been sold or see their answer and question as well as reading vechiles history. when a member finds a trader to be useful they do a recommendation word of mouth is better than joe anbody sticking an ad in. for example i need tyre and member j.smith says i found so an so were reasonable. i say leave as is i trust the senior member opionin though as they know better than i. If its for profit then i would see a few member leaving, and who gets the profit and where does it go

fair enough...maybe trade ads are a bad idea... it would be better for us to post when we see something good as we do at the moment and hence self screen stuff... I shall go and stand in the corner, facing the wall, with my hands on my head!! Leave it as it is, why fix something that aint broke... in fact, even if it was broke we shouldnt be just fixing it but modding it so its unbreakable in future!
