A fond farewell....Thanks to all who have helped me and my fronty but I have to sell it and I am leaving FOG as I am at the end of my tether and cannot afford to own and repair a fronty anymore after spending £1000 on it I can no longer justify keeping it as it costs me £75 a week in fuel to get to work in back in it.
I need a cheap runaround that costs nothing to run and fuel. Still have both cars am selling them both the donor and the running one with tax and mot. Regretfully yours. Rachael
Re: A fond farewell....Thats very sad to hear.
Re: A fond farewell....Sorry you feel like that about your Fronties - I sometimes feel that it is becoming so expensive to keep mine (and the wife's) on the road but I don't like driving 'normal' cars so I put up with it - just. Just a thought - I have just p/ex'd ( 6 months ago) my 2.4 for a 2.5 TDS mainly because it was a bit newer (4 years) but I found the 2.4 only did about 23-24 mpg whereas the 2.5 gives me 28-30 mpg and that makes a lot of difference since I use the beastie every day - the 2.8 I had (in the garden for spares at the moment) was even better at 32+mpg - driven hard! Worth thinking about? rather than giving up on Fronties?
Re: A fond farewell....sorry to hear your leaving the forum, pity you couldnt keep the fronty for playing ? and get a cheap runaround ??

Re: A fond farewell....I am reluctant to sell because of all the hard work put in by everyone. But it is just the cost all the time. I will have to pop in occasionally to check the for sale thread I am selling it for £450 if interested with leather interior. Still have the other donor car for bits til the end of May then its going to the breakers so all those who have requested parts please be aware and PM me for dates to collect/post/meet etc? I may be back one day if I can ever afford a sport. xxxxxx
Re: A fond farewell....We tried being totally reliant on Fronteras in 2007. Not an economical idea I have to say and we don't even spend £75 a month on petrol. Apart from that owning two took the shine off Frontera ownership a bit. The novelty of jumping into and driving this quirky oddball vehicle a few times a week had gone. Whereas now the design perfection of the Berlingo Multispace is a huge contrast to the Sport which is a design nightmare (for practicality being a late 1980s Isuzu recreational vehicle design) but still by far the most "fun" to drive. If you have the space my advice would be to store it if it's a good one, and come back to it. Otherwise you'll miss it.

Re: A fond farewell....Rightmonty the fronty is sold and other fronty is on ebay no reserve 99p start. It has to go. I am still lurking and I do still want a sport but at the moment I cant afford to put food on the table nevermind anything else. Now I have promised parts to some people on here so if they still want them and they want them alot cheaper its easier to buy the whole car it may even be less than a lotto ticket.
Hopefully when things pick up I will be back and with another fronty but for now alas there is just no way I can afford it. Love to all xxxxx contact me asap or look at the ebay listing please..... 320376219616 item number superwoman_76
