banter general discussions etc

Hi guys, This might seem a bit of a strange request, but I have my reasons! In the process of sorting out the bits needed to get my truck through the MOT, I have had to remove the rear inside panels. Due to some ... perhaps slightly excessive force used, both of the ashtray surrounds in the rear have disintegrated. I have no need for ashtrays back there, however the resulting holes do look about right to fit some interior lights in - the kind you get in many saloon car boots perhaps. So, the request is ... does anyone know of a vehicle that has the right sized lights for this hole so I can look into getting some? I don't have the sizes to hand, but will later when I can get in and measure them ...

Wotcha...
Just a thought.... but some car bumper mounted side lights/indicators might fit that size hole too....maybe another solution?? maybe mk1 or mk2 golf indicator with clear lenses, or bmw e30 indicator again with clear lenses...they are about that size but havent got one to hand to measure. Might have some up the workshop if you are interested as I broke up an e30touring a couple of months ago, but you will need to get clear lenses for them...easily available of ebay.

Hi Alchamist Think that's a brill idea ... Just an idea what about just getting some wire and a bulb and some kind of plastic / perspex for the cover and some kind of sealant and make your own, if you can't find one that fits your car ..... It be like having it 'custom made' ('I'm sure its more technical that I have said about making a light, but I've just used the simple terms for it only because I don't know the technical terms for it being just a fem )....Sorry just an idea...But hope you get what I am on about? Good Luck Regards Roo
