Vectra 03 Fuel Filter

Postby Ruathar on Thu Mar 26, 2009 2:21 pm

Can someone who has a working version of TIS installed do me a small favour? I am doing a quick service on a friends Vectra '03 2.2SRI and have come to change the fuel filter. The thing is I can't see any way to get the clips off to remove the old filter (and don't want to break the fuel line ends to do so). Also the fuel pipes are solid and can't be clamped.

can someone see if there is a recommended way to get the filter off and if when doing so I am going to have to be ready to immediately put the new one back on or if there is some way that the fuel can be stopped from running out of the pipes?

Thanks 8)

hello mate i know it sounds stupid but make sure you dont have the engine running or ignition on .

if you look at the filter you will see on either side a black or green clip all you need to do is use a screw driver and push one side of the clips then pull the pipe it wont come of as the clip on the other side has to be pressed as well ( its more you have done the easyer it is you can buy proper pliyers to reomove ) you will allways get a bit of feul come out due to the feul being in the lines but this will stop after 5 seconds just collect it in a pint glass.

these are the one s i have :

Cheers mate, I was hoping it was something as simple as that, but not being my car I didn't want to break anything without checking. Will tell the lazy wotsit to go out and get himself a tool and do it himself :)
