Just posting this as an interest subject .
Bought the 2.2 Olympus tdi born 03! in July 08 Joined the FOG same day, and from there it was down hill all the way. work done at Vauxhall dealers Horsham. Jerking movement from steering had a look and the steering joint seemed loose so drove straight to dealer got them to look at steering, finally found that the stering UJ was loose took it off and the end plate had dropped out and the coupling was shattered about to fall off, BE AWARE FOLKS (Now where would I have been if I hadn't noticed the knock that morning? ) any way it was replaced under warrenty. 4 DAYS LATER HAD PROBLEMS STARTING TOOK IT BACK , They replaced the leakoff pipes. the injector seals,replaced the fuel filter (oil in the diesel.) starting improved and and it seemed to go a little better..
Off to yorkshire towing a caravan , stopped off at bedfordshire steam fair and as i pulled out of there on the monday I felt this little jerk and the jerks got worse but prefomance didn't seem to be effected phoned me mate and he said it would be ok till I got bah , it was, but it was getting worse so back to dealer the replaces egr unit replaced some pipes no improvement, run it for a few weeks took it back.
Got them to check the fuel system complete from tank to injectors. Metal fillings in fuel filter so off with ingector pump checked it out Going I look silly swearing up so ordered a new one £ 2566.77 later tank off cleaned out system cleaned out, back on the road 6 miles and it was jerking as was but now it would not run on tickover smoothly revs kept dropping offf then going back up so took it to a fitter in Putney who said it's the throttle control unit, gave me the fault codes and the repair code took it to the dealer and they fitted the complete throttle from pedel to pump and a NEW CAR WAS BORN.
In the mean time it has been back in for a week for aftersales body work bumpers painted door repaired, new mirrors, towbar replaced, (free).two new tyres (Free). so it has taken a long time to get there but worth it I am just happy that I took out a years warrenty when I bought it otherwise!!!!!!!!!!!!. So a thank you to Stevens MD. But now the washer bottle is leaking under front wing? What next? love my frontera you bet. sorry it's a long story........
