Anyone feeling Brave ???????

Right, as some of you have known me for a few years now, met me on a few occassions or even seen photos of me posted on the site, you will know I am a very well built fella.

To cut a long story short, I was in November last year (2008) topping the scales at 23 Stone !!!!!

Yes I am 6 foot, built like a brick Sh*t house, but obviously, in the eyes of the medical profession not in too good a shape.

After the death of my uncle, at a tender age of 55, last September due to problems relating to been serious over weight for many years it spurred me into doing something about it.

Well, since topping the scales at 23 stone in November last year I have changed my whole outlook on life and changed my whole life style.

I'm pleased to say as of today, 25th January I am now topping the scales at 19 1/2 stone, a whole 3 1/2 stone (49 lbs or 22 1/4 kgs) lighter. I'm feeling much better, a lot more energy, enjoying exercise, eating good, heathly food and enjoying life to the full.

Down to the "BRAVE" bit ...............

My plan is to get down to 15 Stone or less by sometime around September of this year, knocking an entire 8+ Stone off my body, now to celebrate this I have always want to do, and been unable to do, a ............................

Paracute Jump for Charity.

Yes I want to throw myself out of a plan at 10000 feet, and raise lots of money for charity in the process.

Now the question ...............

Are any of you brave enough to tag along and do the jump with me ???????

Basically, if you can pledge £395 in sponsorship money for your chosen charity you get your training and jump for free.

Obviously, conditions apply, such as weight, medical conditions etc, but It would be an excellent, one off chance of a lifetime to do something very daring and exciting.

So, any takers or pledges of donations would be greatfully excepted.

I'll keep you all updated on how Im getting on, a few piccys of my before and after as we go along and more information on the jump as and when I get it.

My daughter was involved in an accident when she was 20 months old, she's now 5 if it wasn't for the unit and it's staff i could have very nearly lost my beautiful baby girl so i want to give something back

God...... Something ive always wanted to do, but since having had 4 ops on my lower back and 1 on my neck, im not allowed. But wish you all the best in losing the weight mate. Way to go guys, Fuddy is archiving three things, a terrifying jump out of a perfectly good plane, loosing weight so he will be around longer for us and his family, and raising money for a good cause of his choice.

Lets put that much pressure on him that he cant do anything but achieve his objectives

Though I now need to loose a couple of stone to get in it again

WELL DONE MATE, i done a jump a while ago, but could not do the 2nd one at 10,000 feet, due to health problems, how much have you raised, and i would join you, but like you i need to lose about 3 stone, but i need a Mr motivator to get me moving,

Well done on the weight loss mate....major achievement!

I managed to lose 6 st (22st down to 16st)in 5 months,3 years ago with the help of some slimming tablets from a diet clinic and loads of time in the gym (made myself quite ill though in the process...something to do with 1000cals a day diet, and working off 1500cals in the gym 4 times a week....not good! ),
The tablets basically suppress your appetite so you have to force yourself to eat, and then give you more energy so you are not tired through lack of cals......
also known as speed I think!!but this was legal....

but I have managed to put 3 and a half of the 6st lost back on again since I stopped the pills....

You have done it the right (and harder) way, and should keep it off- excellent effort!

Only prob with massive weight loss is ya skin wont fit properly for a while...

(but if you sit right you could have an eighteen pack, far more impressive than the ever popular 6-pack!!)....

need to bath at higher temp so you shrink!

The thing is if I fail now not only do I let myself down, but 6000 + other members.

Upto yet i've had two firm offers from willing victims, whoops mean volunteers.

My chosen charity is going to be the Air Ambulance. The reason is they recieve no government funding and are completely self relient on Public funds and donations, and also holds a special place in my heart, due to a very dear friend having a heart attack on a hill walk in Cornwall, Unfortuantely he died but thanks to the speed and professionallism of the Air support unit, his wife of 35 years was given the chance to say good bye to the man she loved so dearly.

Its also a good cause as well, due to the fact most of the Air Ambulance's work is to either Road traffic Accidents or people injured in obscure, un-reachable places, and as most of us go offroading or greenlaning you never know if something may go wrong at some time in one of those inaccessible areas !!!!!

So as it stands now ......
