Fording in a Petrol???

Hi there, Im looking into ways to make my 2.2 petrol LWB a little safer in the water. What sort of goodies can I do to help protect the motor etc, Im looking into getting a 2" lift and then bigger tyres. any info on other things you could recomend would be great, Thanks.

Doris had a good link to a fully waterproof altenator.

A bucket of marine grease on any electrical component is a must. Also fuel pump etc, al lot of people forget the simple ones.

I did, it was fully sealed and was cooled using water from the engines cooling system thereby negating the need for an internal fan and holes/vents in the alternator casing. Quite a few of the newer BMW's are using these types of alternators now apparently as they can go on for years.
