The newly formed South Wales group of 4x4 Response Wales will be holding a recruitment and information meeting on Thursday 27th November at Royal British Legion The. Lock House/Riverside Station Rd, Aberdulais, Neath, SA10 8ES.

Membership is open to anyone with a 4x4. Several workshops and courses are held on a regular basis covering Defensive Driving, Winch Training, First Aid, Survival Techniques and many others.

Social meets are usually held once a month at various locations and membership is free with a nominal charge for courses and workshops.

Some initial training is required before you can achieve responder status but if you are called out and manage to help someone then that can be a reward in itself.

I am not a member ( Merseyside being kind of a nothing happens zone ) but this is a very well run organisation.

They will give advice and back up to your employer if needed, and your not committed to attend emergencies if your situation doesnt allow at any given time.
The network is quiet sophisticated using a text message service in times of emergency I believe.

i would love to get involved with something like that ,nothing ever happens in wolves besides the usual ,shooting,bodys in the canal,muggings,you know ,just the normal run of the mill stuff

Quite a few turned up as far as I can gather. They are still recruiting if anyone is interested. Im a member of the Powys 4x4 response group and havent had much to do with or know much about the Wales group as yet.
