Re: My Other Vauxhall Project.Had one too, only managed to get a ford xflow 1600 in mine though. There were problems with the exhaust on the ohc pinto engines and as I had the exhaust off a mk2 escort we used parts off that. My reg was ynt989t, blue in colour and when I think back it makes me cringe. We thought we were the dogs in our cars at the time. Spent many a night driving around lichfield. The chavs of the eighties/early ninetys!
Nice looking lotus sunbeam in the background, my mate had the tii. I thought they had a reputation of rotting faster than they could be fixed!
Re: My Other Vauxhall Project.180 bhp thats about what my hsr had back in the 80;s. hope your used to rear wheel drive
If its clean your not having fun!!!!

Re: My Other Vauxhall Project.I absolutely love the Chevette, I had Five of them in my first 2 years of driving.
This was my first, a 1256 with the wheels on back to front as I could not afford wide wheels then. ![]() And this was what I finaly built, took ages, it had 1.8 manta engine and box with standard rear axle. Black magic body kit and HSR bonnet. I SO miss this car, if I found it again I would buy it back straight away. ![]() Very glad to see a Chevette, so rare now. Best of luck with the project and keep us all posted on how it goes. Regards Luke. 1995 LWB 3.1TD now sold

Re: My Other Vauxhall Project.Cheers Luke, I will keep you's posted. I love the wheels on back to front
Your second one looks great. A great job done. We are rear wheel drive nuts, my brother has the Lotus Sunbeam, Avenger Tiger, 5 Other avengers, a Ford Anglia (Ron Harris's) and 2 manta a's oh a manta b too. Its just driving at its best! Chevettes are getting thin on the ground your right. BUt good ones can still be got.

Re: My Other Vauxhall Project.Yeah, he has been collecting since he was 17 or so, petrol head extream. Nice to see money being spent on good cars saved from rot n rust rather than being pee'd down the preverbial wall. Only wish I had of clicked a bit younger myself. The value of these things go up by the day, its hard to believe that a car my mother once owned, the fiat 500 (3 buried in our back garden) are nearly as expensive as the new ones.
