last night i had to do a 355 miles round trip from telfordto bath and back to drop the mrs off at the new house so she could meet the removals people who are dropping our stuff round today. filled up on the way back and worked out my MPG - it was 2.15am and i needed something to do lol.
anyway, 355 miles, and it was 61 litres, which is near as dammit 15 and a bit gallons 355miles, 15(ish) gallons means around 22 MPG
is this good / bad / normal for a frontera ?? mines the 2.2 petrol 96lwb
anyone else bored / dsad enough to work out or know their normal mpg lol post your model, petrol or diesel, engine size, and mpg ;
Jonno 96 2.2 Petrol LWB 22 MPG

i drive a 98 LWB 2.5tds, i drove from west bay (bridport) via Gillingham North dorset to chichester 2weeks ago, put in 3/4 tank and did 345miles round trip and it worked out to be roughly 29 - 30MPG.
that was driving at a steady speed and not exceeding 65mph, to me 29-30mpg is pretty good for me. Darren aka Ch3f

At a steady pace with my 2.2 LWB I get approximately 400 to 450 miles from full until the fuel warning light comes on permanently. When the light stays on permanently there is approx 10 litres left in the tank.
400 miles @ 70 litres = 25.98 450 miles @ 70 litres = 29.22
Figures are approximate averages and havent varied much since Iv owned the car. When I lived in Dublin and was doing mainly city miles it dropped to somewhere between 20 and 25 MPG.
I also drink Port and I'm not ashamed to say it! Me Truck

My 2.8TDi turns in between 30 and 32, worst was 28 while towing another Fronty. Up until a month ago was one of them peeps that used to record milage between tankfuls so I could work out what it was doing Went to Cornwall Easter time for a weeks holiday and it did 33mpg with a mix of motorway and country roads
Soon to be without a Frontera after 10 years of owning one

Must be summat wrong with your 2.8 ste Mind you the book gives the following figures: 2.2 Petrol Urban - 23.5 56MPH - 38.1 75MPH - 26.9 2.8 Disiesel Urban - 28.8 56MPH - 38.1 75MPH - 24.9 SWB figures for the disiesel are 1 or 2 MPG better Interesting that the 56MPH figure is identical and a big difference in Urban cycle. Mind you, 80 litres = 17.58 gallons. 17.58 x 38.1 MPG = A maximum range of 669.89 Miles. A bit of a stretch whichever way you put it and I would love to know how they arrived at that figure. I might start driving at 56MPH everywhere now
