I havent taken a steering wheel off but wish I had an adjustable one like yours.I did take one off an Astra and I think it had a single nut in the middle and the wheel needed a bit of a bang to loosen the tightness on the shaft. Do you have a haynes manual? it may show you how to get it off it that.

The correct way to get a steering whell off is to slacken off the centre nut, but don't remove it. Grab the wheel at the left and right and violently push down on one side while pulling on the other rocking it loose. If you remove the nut completely before doing this, you may lose a few teeth.

Thinking about your rear springs.I dont think they are an m.o.t. failure if the bushes are worn but mine did fail last year on one front bottom shock absorber bush and both the bottomones at the back so they ought to be checked first and replaced.Each rubber bush has two parts which fit together on the bolt. It may be worth asking fog about coil springs instead of leaf.Hope it goes well today.

Many thanks to Fronty Customs for travelling down and braving the elements to fix my car electrics! Just have the tow bar electrics to sort now as Fronty Customs thinks this is causing my brake light problems.
But thank you so much. He didn't even eat any biscuits! I owe you one mate. You were truly fantastic!!!

Hey, not a problem. At least u got lights now hey n all the dash works now. Just tryin to find out the wiring on the tow plug, if anyone knows it could be of some help.

When the brakes are pressed the lights work fine..........but, when the side lights are on the near side one goes out. Managed to sort the earths on the rear light clusters but traced a feed to the tow socket n didnt get anythin off it.

i had a similar problem check bulbs and changed them, also the connectors in the cluster, just bent them a bit more away from each other,
