That would be my upper control arm when I tried to push the bushes out on a a press Was perhaps a little foolish not making a propper fixture and was holding the arm in place as I applied about 50 tonnes to it. All went well as the tonnage was added, a bit of flex in the arm, movement in the rubber. Then pop the bush gave about half an inch and all the flex in the arm translated into speed Counted fingers, major parts, no sign of blood, a little shook up I went for the other side making amental note to be more careful Done it again.. Not my most intelectual moment, but a lesson learnt, dont mix tonnage and hangovers

If its any consolation I went out to change the brake pads and discovered I have a shot inner and outer wheel bearing on the front left.
I was wondering what that whining noise was on the way back from the beginners laning day.

I'm back, awake and back to normal. Glad I gave you a laugh Dave, theres no lasting marks, so I'm not smarting. Takes more than that to dent my pride (I got experience denting it ) Shame about the bearing Phil, if you got any cv work you want doing, when we do the Diff it needs splitting so wouldnt bother when you do the bearing unless its desperate.

I needed new discs on the front anyway and came into a bit of extra cash this week.
Iv had my fair share of incidents with objects hitting me in the face. I stepped on a rake once and the handle flew up and hit me in the face. Another time I got hit in the eye with a golf club at a driving range. When I was about 4 or 5 someone threw a brick at me and it hit me edge on in the forehead. And when I was about 7 someone nearly broke my nose with a hurling stick (sorta like a cross between a hockey stick and a lacrosse stick). And today when I was pottering about with the car I stood up and cracked my head off the bottom edge of the boot door which I had left open.
Still though, thats only 1 major incident every 5 years or so, my dad cracks his head on the edge of the car boot every time he opens it.

the worst one i have seen or should i say the best one as i was laughing so hard i couldn't help the bloke,, he was using spring compressors the one you wind up, its in the vice the spring is compressed, he leaned over to remove the collars, and you can guess what happend the both compressors gave up at the same time, and hit him square on the forehead, he flew about 20 feet across the garage, and landed in between the ramps, stood up and walked in the back room got his coat and tried to get in his car, we had to stop him then, and call a ambulance,
flying solo, weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I'm glad you lot are about as serious as me. Phil, if you wanna wait till you come up then why not, we can have them off while we split the cv's to remove the diff. Good time to clean everything up and start fresh.

Yep, sounds good Alex. Get it all done at the same time. With a bit of luck my springs should have arrived by then as well and we can possibly get the lift sorted as well.
