retrospective Vehicle Execise Duty levy back to 2001 year vehicles

this is going to affect all fronteras and a large number of smaller cars registered after 1 march 2001.

Though her 05 piccaso 20hdi is only going up from £120 to £125 per year

I expected that there would be, but after a quick search I did not find any.
This repeat may bring this to wider audience?

I consider this to be unfair on existing owners even if it is necessary for the future.
We are up grading to a v6 lpg as soon as I can find a tidy one pre march 2001 model

This I belive is retricted to one sign per e mail address, and has to be confirmed by that address.
We have more then one address so the wife is signg up as well.

Thats the back handed way it works, now if you owned a car after March 01 hundreds will have been knocked off the price, some wont even sell, so those people have to go into debt to buy a new car that comes in under the emissions barrier for low tax, but that new car will already have produced more emissions just being built than the older cer would of had it been able to see out its life a bit longer as opposed to being scrapped because it wont sell.

Been thinking about this for a while but kept quiet,but am in a bad mood today and have to shout!!!
Okay as a pre 2001 owner it does not affect me as much as some of you but it's the Government who are killing us all.

This tax is aimed at those who can already afford high cost motors and the tax increase will not bother them ( all those who drive around that very hilly rough terrain they callLONDON.So many dangerous places you need a 4x4 to get around in (NOT)).
The ripple effect is it hurts all of us who genuinely need and use 4x4's.Why should somebody who runs a farm or business who relies on their post 2001 to survive have to pay so the London dwellers can drive around in their status symbols.This is also why the Green Bods are getting hot and bothered about "being green".



As I live in a remote area ( most areas do not feature on maps ) and farming is the main income a lot of Farmers I know are having to sell there newer trucks and buying older ones to avoid paying any more money they do no have and the result
A reversal of the " Going Green" policy as most of what they are getting are not as clean as their new motors.
Don't hit the rural s who rely on transport to survive because the London crowd can afford it.Change the law,instead of one tax make it a regional tax!!!

Soon there will be no local enterprise or farms and the countryside will just go back to shrubs and overgrown waste.

Sorry to get nasty but the government will learn....

someone told me the best thing to do i apply for 1 years tax in march weather its due or not ( cash your old one in) then you get a year at the old rate next march do same at the new rate but before it changes again .
