when i log on to the site the new posts counter tells me there is 5000+ new posts that i have not read con an admin or mod change this please and reset it or something cheers

you can allways mark all forums as read and start again

Have you disabled cookies for this site? If so, it makes it hard for the software to keep track - it's not something we can alter ourselves.

Try this - click on "Board index" just below the logo, then click on "Mark forums read" under the search bar top right of the page. Log out, clear your cookies/cache and log in again, see if that helps.

at the bottom of the screen i just hit delete all board cookies and then sign back in,

I'm getting the same thing too. I did the log out/ clear cookies/ mark forums read etc. thing the other day and now I'm back up to several pages of messages since my last visit. As far as I know I haven't changed anything at my end to block cookies from this site

I'm getting this too. I haven't changed a thing and visit every day. I click a bookmark that takes me to the new posts section. Previously it never went about a couple of pages, but by last night I was upto 10 pages or 300+ threads (with many read threads in and there can'gt have been that many new topics is 8 hours!) before reading this thread. I deleted the board cookies, logged out etc. Hey presto, only 2/3 unread posts. This morning there was a few more, and now its back to two pages again, and they aren't all new posts...again many are read but not being recognised as such by the search function. Possibly a problem with the way the cookies are working?

i think it relates to how many new post there are, i mean one thread might have 5 new posts in it and another only have one, but i was on last night and cleared my cookies and come on tonight and there is 250 new posts, like i said before its a great site and well used
