I've had my 3.2 V6 for over 3 years now - good car
I'm thinking of flogging the V6 and the Megane and getting a 2.2 dTi which I will use for both towing and commuting. Good plan or not? Will I hate towing with it after the v6?
Many thanks in advance

Thinking about changing from v6 to dtiHi, looking for some thoughts and opinions.

Re: Thinking about changing from v6 to dtiMost Frontera's I see towing vans are 2.2dti's and the seem pretty big vans, I noticed dozens on my trip to Cornwall this year.
To be honest I would got for the tdi for fuel efficacy Ste

Re: Thinking about changing from v6 to dtiThe tdi? Is that a typo or do you mean the older 2.8? I want to stay as new as poss (had a mk1 before and prefer the mk2), so I'd be looking for a 2000 model to avoid the tax.
Also, having looked further into it, I see the 2.2dti Sport would be capable of towing the trailer too as the trailer is rated at 2340kg and the towing capacity of the Sport is 2400kg. Why has the Sport got 400kg less towing capacity than the LWB at 2800kg? The kerbweight of the cars is not much different at 1762 and 1791kg? Should I consider a Sport or stick with the LWB? Many thanks again, I do appeciate all opinions and thank you for your time taken to reply MY2000 3.2 V6 24v petrol LWB BEAST!!

Re: Thinking about changing from v6 to dtiThe LWB has a better stability and I would say that is why its got the extra 400kg. 2.2dti I would say would be a good compromise, its the only model ive no experience with, but would want to have a real good poke around the 2.2dti section to see what can go wrong before going out to purchase.
