I think I'm finally going to use my ebay account and therefore need to setup a Pay Pall account
Question:
What type of PP account do I need (to sell and perhaps buy): Personal, Premier or Business).
What fees are involved ?

Re: Ebay & Pay Pal - setting up an account Q'sHang on a mo, I think I've just found the answers - little link at the bottom of the page.
So, I probably want a Premier account. It cost nothing to set up and pay for goods If I transfer less than £50 to my bank account from my PP account, then there is a 25p fee. Free to transfer £ from bank to PP The, on receiving payment for goods sold, there is a 3.4% + 20p charge. Is that about right ? Lawrence
Re: Ebay & Pay Pal - setting up an account Q'shi,
I have the Personal and it works fine for buying and selling, as for the charges it will tell you as it depends on how many pics and if you put a reserve on things. Simon ![]()
Re: Ebay & Pay Pal - setting up an account Q'sThink mine is a personal account, set it up about 5 or six years ago, the charges sound about right.

Re: Ebay & Pay Pal - setting up an account Q'sas said, you get charged for pics, and other stuff while selling. also VAT, also if you accept paypal payments, you are also charged a percentage of what goes into your paypal account, Not the buyer. the little charges can mount up at end of the month if not watched.
so my advice, and i now the the rest of the world looking on wil see this, is to add an extra pound or so to your postage costs, because if its an item that only worth a pound or two, you could actualy end up loosing out in the long run. sean
Re: Ebay & Pay Pal - setting up an account Q'sIf I remember correct you get so many pictures free, then its 12p a picture, all depends how much the item your selling is, I mean if its a couple of quid just the free pics will do, if its expensive and complex spending £1.50 on 10 pics is no big deal and cheaper than auto trade or local papers

Re: Ebay & Pay Pal - setting up an account Q'sIf you expect to receive more than two credit/debit card payments within a year, then you need a "premier" account on PP, otherwise a personal one is just fine. If you sign up for a personal one and exceed the limit, they will just ask you to upgrade anyway.
