There is a place near me that does "off roading" though during this in their own vehicles your not allowed to touch the gears or throttle, if you use your own 4x4 you have to have an instructor sit with you. so thats that out the window.

Then today i discovered this place for NI off roading:

so i gave them a ring, asked about off roading, yeah bring your own 4x4 no problems, £30 for a day, just call on over, but we advise you bring 2 vehicles to aid recovery if you get stuck.

im really excited and wanna try this place, for £30 a day id nearly live there! though i dont think id go on my own, maybe if i had a winch btu i really dont fancy gettin stuck and being alone.

id also like someone else so we could learn from eachother and for a bit of craic, my mate will come with me but i coubt his corsa would recovery my fronty

anyone interested give me a shout!

also id like a list of recommended things to bring to a play day,im assuming a strong rope or chain is a minimal.

yup ..
.a strong tow rope or chain ,glves if handleing chains,
cb or pmrs (Personal Mobile Radios) for car to car contact,
camera (so we can see you when you get stuck)
rags or old towels....you need to have ur lights & reg plate clean for on road use after playing

sure theres some idea of what to take but some one will give a better list

hehe i just happen to have those things (or borrow dads) apart from the camera, but jonny has a good one so il borrow him

Do not use a chain for recovery (dangerous in the hands of the inexperienced)

A good tow rope, or better a strop with a couple of shackles will do fine.

Agree with Trugga - never use chains - nightmare waiting to happen.

Straps/strops are cheap and easy to get/store - better than rope imho.
