K&N panel filterDunno why, but in my mind the K&N cone's were performance, panels were for tight gits who didnt want to buy another. talking to Jase (Tight git) who dropped a panel in his 2.0, it made a difference performance wise. So I had a sniff round my factors and got one for each of mine. The 3.2 got one for £40 thats only a couple of quid more than a propper air filter (bloody unique) and its made a right difference.

Re: K&N panel filterWill do, fitting one to 2.8 in morning ready for a run out. Impressed with the feel of them, very purposefull after the mass produced paper pap from Halfrauds.

Re: K&N panel filterMy thinking is that they are cotton in a gauze, so if they get damp they dont disintegrate and distort or get sucked into the turbo.

Re: K&N panel filterI have been running all my cars on K&N panel filters when they don't come with a performance filter fitted as standard for years. Not only do you get a little more grunt at the lower end of the range but you get a much smoother power gradient through the acceleration of the car.
Believe it or not you don't get any more ponies as standard out of the V6 but it does feel like it as you are quicker to get to the optimum point. One thing you may notice is a slight whistle coming from your air box when you open the throttle out, this is a good thing as when you no longer get that whistle you are back to getting back to the air flow of a normal air filter due to dust etc in the K&N and it is time to clean. Some day it will be how I want it to be...
Re: K&N panel filterThe original whistled a lot at high revs. Does feel smoother, but had the bearings apart and re packed, so its had a mini service and just feels quicker all round.
