Fire fire fire !!!

Now that I have your attention (I hope ), Lidl are selling a 1kg fire extinguisher for £6.99. Its a class A,B&C and the special starts tomorrow 21 July I'll be grabbing 2 at that price & mounting them on the tunnel inbetween the front & rear seats.

That bottle jack is dam cheap too. Shame I already have 2, looks like I need to start frequenting that place.

just noticed that extinguisher is powder, dont use unless last resort, have you seen the mess they make? used one in a workshop with 10 cars in, all with doors open or windscreens removed. £1000 valleting bill

Its hard to find CO2 out there, most you see are powder. As more exotic materials are used CO2 gets dangerous. Ask the Royal Navy crews in the Falklands, not nice putting an extinguisher on a fire and turning it into a flamethrower.

I'll be looking to buy an AFFF hand held and plumbed in system (as required by the MSA), although at that price they'll be ideal for the car(s).

Do bear in mind though that you'll only get a few seconds use out of them. That won't put out a car fire, but can used effectively to clear an egress route for people.
