a gauge question

Postby willowkevin on Fri Jul 11, 2008 11:14 am

now then folk, its been a while since i was on ! frontys done 17k now since the engine conversion .... but ive just split another trooper radiator :( 2 in 21 months ! so im attempting to fit the fronty one i have . right the question is this - my dash gauge has been goosed since i got the car , now this fronty rad is requiring some artfull bodging on the pipework so i want to fit a temp gauge in the car , but i aint got one so was wondering if i could use a fuel gauge instead ? both electric and run on the resistance of the circuit, just different gauge fronts im thinking ?(hoping)
suggestions please :D

hiya carl,how are you ?
yes i could do that but as i have this fuel gauge left over from the project im just finishing i was hoping i could use it :D , doesnt need to be an accurate temp , just an indication of where the temp is , so if any of these pipes either split, weep or hook up in the alty belt i'll see an increase !

Once upon a time in a county far,far away, there was a Marina driver (not me) who changed his dashboard for a nice racy model which was brilliant,he ended up with a car that got colder as it ran & had an ever filling fuel tank. :oh yer: :oh yer: so yes your plan should work,,,,,I should say my mate was colour blind
