Postby woody666 on Sat Jun 28, 2008 5:24 pm

Hi all...has anyone got an easy way of cleaning oil cooler......since i fitted a thermostate to replace the one that was'ent there...temp guage goes up to halfway...nice in winter (heater now works) but in summer oil thins ..pressure starts to worrie me...the longer the trip the lower the pressure but as yet no red light...1 remove thermostate in summer or 2 try cleaning oil cooler which is easier(thermostate)

Cleaning the oil cooler is easy, remove it and block one end with summat, a cork or rubber bung, then fill with petrol or a degreasant, let it sit for a while and shake it about, then drain it. Or more likely the oil you are using is too thin. try a heavier weight of oil.
I also drink Port and I'm not ashamed to say it!
