Load weight

Just wondering whats the maximum weight im legaly allowed to carry in my truck, its a 2.2 1999 lwb, or the safe weight to carry, also what tyre pressures should i use.

also how would i find this out, as i use my truck daily for collecting goods at work. and im lucky as everyhting has the weight marked on so i dont have to guess

The 2.2 5 door manual tran, has a permissible gross vehicle weight of 2400kg
The kerb weight is 1796kg which includes 68kg driver, luggage 7kg and all fluids and fuel tank 90% full (as per EC directive of base modal)

To add for options

Sun roof 12.8kg
Side steps 17kg
Air con 19.8kg
Tow bar 20kg

The payload is the difference between the permissible gross and the kerb weight.

But don’t forget not to over load each axel …. Check the vin plate as suggested.

Best thing to do is go to a public weigh bridge empty, and record the weight.
Then load up with what you have as a normal load and see what effect this has on each axel weight.

also dont forget if you are going to tow to allow 75kg nose weight of the trailer will add to your grossweight / axel weight

IE car running at maxweight on its own weighs 2400kg max weight on weighbridge hook trailer on with trailer off the bridge and vehicle max weight will increase by the nose weight of trailer thus making grossweight & poss axel weight over therefore illegal so if towing alway allow for noseweight in calculation

the max weights and axel & grosstrain weight can be a minefield to the inexperienced
