banter general discussions etc
by skywalker on Fri Jun 13, 2008 11:05 pm
Hiya Gang, Earlier in my life i had an interesting experience with a Hornby railway set transformer and another whilst sizing the walls on the first house i rebuilt (Dont worry this is not going were you think it is) and hence i have a huge dislike of anything that contains electrickery and incidently i have never needed to use hair gel since! Get the point? My truck is now the proud owner of a recon gearbox and all in lfe seemed beautiful till a friend informed me that my CB doesnt work because the wiring gubbins keeps blowing fuses and seems to be shorting out somewhere and he suggested that it should be re connected with a new feed and a little general sorting out done with the redundant electric window switches and the removal of the hands freekit. I ofcourse got that sinking feeling and subsequently a sweaty panic given my earlier experiences of electrickery. So here comes the request! Is anybody willing /brave enough to attend to the aforementioned electrickery in return for 1 Cash money or 2 a favour in order that life becomes beautiful, and also so i can attend the proposed Greenlaning day with Rangakoo and Wilberforce. The extent of the favour is up to you but i,m a very good car valeter/ a carpenter by trade or my nickname with some of my customers is Slash and Burn, because i,m a dab hand with a brushcutter/ hedgetrimmer/ chainsaw/lawnmower and have been known to change a jungle into garden with a little help of a gallon of diesel. It goes without saying , i,m willing to come to you and supply either the cash money or the favour. Yours pleadingly Skywalker P.s if i,ve put this in the wrong forum Sorry

Hiya Chaps, Thanx for the support. I know i.m being a little cheeky on this request but have got that 1 step forward 2 steps back feeling at mo , but not giving up. I,m fine with paying fuel costs but feel a little as if putting you chaps out over the distance. Greatly encouraged by your offers and may still take you up. Your all due one of these or maybe more than one Skywalker

If you wanted either Carl or I to have a look, i'm afraid you would have to come to us, as both of our trucks are off the road at the moment - but if you're willing to travel, then either of us would be happy to have a look for you - but feel free to see if there's someone a little closer first

Hiya Gang, A little update! Cb still broke but i painted the front wing and the drivers door today after my little altercation with a unimog. (them things dont half stop you quick) anyway the truck looks all the same colour now and apart from a coat of lacquer she is pretty again. Still looking for the favour or the spend the cash for the electrickery so if anybody can i would be gratefull. P.s Happy bithday Mrs Oktober for the other day Skywalker

Hiya Wiberforce, No the rigs all right, its blows the fuse everytime you replace the fuse. I think its more to do with the after fit window switches that never worked according to the last owner and the defunct hands free kit. I even went out and bought a new mount for my stinger but its no use unless i can sort the power and remove the above. No laning for me yet! Skywalker
