Re: Beginners and experienced Greenlanes Longmynd 28th JuneLooks like the trip keeps evolving
The lanes arent difficult, they were the beginers route with Trugga I did last summer. Unless we have some monsoons (possible) then the going should be fine for standard cars and road tyres. We will be steady with any new folkes who come along the evening part, must be careful with lights not to upset locals, so may decide on the day/night wether certain lights need to stay off so lets make sure nobody's iluminating the stars. Hadnt thought about sleeping, Ive slept in mine happily with seats back, but those with more than 2 ocupants would have difficulties. Happy for BB or camping so lets figure whos up and then make a bit of a poll. Theres a question if a BB will be happy with us turning up late in evening, after a full day and some more cant guess at a time for the finish. Also lets all remember a full day will want some breaks and plenty of drink/grub. Its amazing how a full day off roading can drain you. Am looking into the route, the easiest I can see and it will give us the carwash first in Wales (definate daylight) is a run up the A5 to Corwen first, this will make the lanes after. We will then finish somewhere around llangollen. Also a comment to think on, if we go camping, its amazing how much you end up taking. The car starts to pile up, less space, more weight. Tending to the BB or if theres a travel lodge type of deal. Fronty no.4, pimp mobile Treg 3.2 LWB lifted 2.5"

Re: Beginners and experienced Greenlanes Longmynd 28th JuneA thought,
The carwash if you are planning an evening crossing it would best be done as early & quietly as possible, bearing in mind that there is an occupied private house on the wayfarer side Also using minimum car lights may be a good idea.
Re: Beginners and experienced Greenlanes Longmynd 28th JuneJust had a meet with jelly, forgot that taking him means I bring him back, so I'm not overnighting. Still happy to stop out till whenever, good job he's coming along later.
Who else does travellodge type rooms, is it holiday inn? sure to be something on A5. A friend, as commented, lights will be appraised all along the trip, we will be dropping to road lights only as approaching dwelings. I have done all routes afew times in daylight and know where to be careful. With it being so close to the longest night we should have useable light for most if not all of the routes.
