The government will hold out on tax cuts on fuel until the very last minute, the election is still a long way off in real terms and the electorate have a very short memory.
The reasoning behind this is oil may just drop a few dollars a barrel, they will then possibly hold the November 2p increase off till the next budjet, make them look like they have done something.
They may even give the truckers a concession, thats a big lever gone from any dispute.

Come the buget you can bet your bottom dollar we will get a 3p fuel rise and insurance tax will increase to get more out of us.

So taking bets insurance will be banded with road tax.

Sorry to sound cynical but its the truth and it hurts, the tories will be no better and goverments are to strongly swayed by the greens purely because Europe will fine the goverment if they dont reach their Green target.

If its our own island, then we would never go on public highway,especially as we'd have no roads cos they are boring, so surely we could all run on red diesel, which would be cheaper....

Either that or we could knock out any lighthouses on the nearby islands and wreck the odd tanker every now and again on one our purpose built reefs (with built in pumping station and pipeline going ashore to massive underground storage tank).
Granted wild life might suffer slightly (both the fish that resided there that the russian trawlers missed- and the seagull that waits till the last coat of autoglym is buffered off before giving a visual demonstration of what it had for breakfast!)
Other than that its all good, other than needs to be in a climate where we can grow a stella artois tree (or forest).
