hi all.just had the head gasket done on my L reg 2.0l sport.now the cars all back together it wont start.have tried crank sensor,coil and ecu.disconnected all the alarm.got power to the coil but no pulse.also no engine management light on the dash.any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

have you made doubly sure that you have reconnected every thing

whats the symptoms sy? is it turning over? Fuel pump possibly? try the little valve on the fuel rail to see if youve got fuel pressure? Tripple check every connector youve touched.

its not actualy me thats doing it so im just going on what im told.its turning over fine just got no spark.all connectors that were unplugged have been checked and checked again.its bin off the road nearly 10 weeks and running out of ideas

where abouts are you ...........someone may be close to offer some assistance ...
haas the fuel filter and the "in tank" filter been checked/replaced /cleaned out
also have you got a known working feul pump relay

I know its a long shot but I remember a similar situation, turned out that the timing was out by 180deg.Are you sure everything was put back correctly after doing the head?

as far as i am aware everything on the fuel side seems to be fine.i will check again tomorrow.seems almost like an immobillser fault.

might be worth finding out what your model of alarm/immobiliser does, if its like mine then it wouldnt even turn over. That could rule the immobiliser in or out depending on its functions.
If it is the immobiliser it might have just reset itself with the battery being off? My bet is fuel though. Make sure its getting up to the fuel lines

I think you may be barkin up the wrong tree! Ask yourself,why should things like the alarm coincidently break after doing the head? I bet many of us will admit to replacing a bunch of unnecessary parts when faced with a problem like this Its going to be a simple fix,staring you in the face

yippeeeee. i fixed it.just thought id let you all know my fronty is up n running again.fuel pump relay was knackered which caused no spark and the dozey person that put the engine back together had put the fuel pipes back on the wrong way round.thanks for all your help n suggestions.
