1. fuel injection pump replaced at 37000 cost £1400 2. imobiliser failure rewired (bypass) cost £240 3. EML still comes on under heavy use? Vac pipes and all bleedoffs replaced? Now has only 40000 miles soI hope that's it for a while BIG BILL.
Re: How many miles & what's gone wrong ?Dont know if this will be of any interest but i thought id post it any hoo:-
R - reg fronty sport, bought 12th jan 07 paid £1900, 66k mls on the clock (not so sure if this was genuine, i have my doubts) absolutely no service history whatsoever with it so i took the risk ...... current mileage 104k Yup i do a LOT of mileage, this includes thrapping it up and down the motorway daily at 90mph, plenty of stop start driving, bouncing up cerbs all day, being loaded up for surfing trips to woolacoombe, ( and i mean loaded up. i dont do traveling light ) seats down stacked to the roof, surf board, mountain board, and mountain bike on the roof rack, plus some days of extreme off roading. I service it at all the correct intervals....... And wats gone wrong....................... basically nothing !!! i had a top hose go a few months ago ( the strange little one that fits kinda under the inlet manifold ) this was due to age and the rubber going hard. And the centre box started blowing, ( caused by me bellying it out off road )Since had this removed and a straight pipe welded in for better ground clearence. Other than that ( ooooo has started to blow a little oil out the back off the head now ) its been totally reliable and a credit to vauxhall to be fair. Considering the abuse i put it through daily i cant fault it. Dingle
Re: How many miles & what's gone wrong ?Lower ball joints have slight play (according to my friendly MOT man) after 113,000 miles. As far as I can tell from previous owner receipts etc they are still the originals.
Re: How many miles & what's gone wrong ?148000mls on a 2.4 only had 1 problem cutting out due to a melted fuel pump relay

Anyone near me with the know how want to give me a hand getting her back on the road
Re: How many miles & what's gone wrong ?Fuel lines fixed got new steel braided lines only a tenner on E bay half hours work job done I LOVE MY FRONTY
Re: How many miles & what's gone wrong ?Bought mine in april with 126,000 did normal stuff like service and cambelt had 13 months of mot but needed all pads doing, front bearings setting, clutch master was empty, hole in one way valve in servo pipe, airflow meter, idle valve, side steps, alloys (wheels and tyres were shot), fuel pump packed in oh yes had to take a chisel to the c**p in the inlet manifold then reseal the throttle body (cleaned out all the engine breathers at the same time oddly enough). washer jets had blocked before I got it and I blew both off the bonnet on the way back from buying it - bet I could not do that again if I tried. I've found you can fit a volvo load cover to hide your amps and stuff. Last but not least did the air duct change listed on here (not counting radios/ alarms etc)
Hang on forgot one had wheel move like a nodding dog whilst in lincs - all the bolts that hold the top part of the steering column/wheel on were free moving - that was fun! have done nearly 2k in between though - she never actually broke down on me and if she'll run like that she'll run in a hurricane

Bought it when I joined the foum. Diff covered and oil pipes needed changing. Parts along cost me over £200.00, thanks vauxhall. Glow plugs bought ( not fitted) june 2008. New £20.00. Few other faults, but will list when done. Cars done over 154,000 miles, but starts, runs, and does what I want it to do.
