petrol or diesel ???is anyone considering going back to petrol, with the lastest fuel increases (ex diesel). at the moment i would think a 2.4 fronty would be cheaper to run than the 2.3 td,just wondered what your all thinking...............still aint driving me 2.3 as its still in dock lol
i been driving the missus car about,a small citreon & must say i quite enjoy putting twenty quid in it & running round all week, not something you could do with the 2.3 td.. my frontera 2.3 td is a slug in snails clothing ha

Re: petrol or diesel ???The Diesel does wade better, but some electric powered fuel pumps could be a down fall on modern diesels. Also lots of ecu type bits to worry about.

Re: petrol or diesel ???Depends entirely on how many miles you do. If you do simple arithmetic the diesel engines get better mileage even though its more expensive. It is very very slightly cheaper per mile to run diesel (on mine) but if you dont do enough miles then the difference isnt enough to warrant the expense of a diesel engine car.
29mpg on my 2.2 Ecotec @ 112 pence per liter = 6.4 miles per liter= 17.5 pence per mile 36mpg on my 2.2 DTi @ 123 pence per liter = 7.9 miles per liter = 15.5 pence per mile Ive never bothered with numbers like this I drive what I like!!!!! Water's an integral part of any nuclear propulsion system... The reactor gets hot, and that's used to generate steam in a non-radioactive part of the system, then said steam spins the steam turbines, which generate power for your electrics, and spin the propellors too... Jim...
