Re: Bobbins has a new truck!!!Hey Ian, how did you find your new truck, and hows the drive home. al fine i hope.
Look forward to seeing it all done, and how long do you estimate, will we see it at the GWR. Keep us posted with a few pics, as you go. sean
Re: Bobbins has a new truck!!!she drove home fine mate, smoother than Angelina actually. I'm hoping to have it at the GWR but it will still be a work in progress cos of how much what we're gonna do will cost. I think we're realisticly looking at 12 months or so but it will be worth the wait

Re: Bobbins has a new truck!!!you got it mate
Basically, We want it to be road leagal so we can take it laning but modded so that it will go anywhere, and I mean anywhere. Me and Daz have still to sit down and plan everything so I am speaking of just my ideas so things may and will change but this is the jist..... 1. Convert to a pickup but not closed in like MUDMUNCHA (although that does look the dog's danglies), I want storage space 2. serious suspension lift, hoping on 4" as it's a leefy 3. perhaps a 2-3" body lift. 4. snorkel (obviously) 5. stack exhaust coming up the back of the cab 6. depending on legislation, i would like to move the fuel tank from underneath to inside the load area (in a steel case of cause) thus giving better departure angle. 7. one of Trugga's winch bumpers with a 12000lb winch 8. light bar 9. jerry can stowage 10. waffle board and Hi-lift stowage 11. propper recovery points 12. BIG boots (35" preferably) 13. Checker plate throughout. 14. maybe LPG conversion then HHO 15. Has to be the cammo paint job 16. Graphics. That's all i can think of for now but would welcome any other suggestions ![]() SIZE DOES MATTER!! Re: Bobbins has a new truck!!!I reckon as its a toy, forget about HHO and LPG as it only gets to the place and back, or take two cars in case you need a tow after some over enthusiastic playing
See what can be achived at the front end suspension wise before lifting the rear to much. The fuel tank should be ok, but the exauhst will need to be isolated or have a grill around it, something like the wagons have. Maybe get some manual locking hubs, make your diffs last longer, just a few ideas, by no means gospel just things to mull around Ste

Re: Bobbins has a new truck!!!how much lift do you reackon i can get at the front before i go down the route of the Calmini control arms

Re: Bobbins has a new truck!!!You can go plus 2" but you will loose down travel and knock your camber think it is, out , this can be compensated by flipping your upper ball joints, not recommended for anything less than 2".
You can preferably get the Calmini control arm to sort this out or play with the shims in the standard arm, but if you are not doing a great deal of road miles this wouldn't be a huge issue as its maily related to tyre wear and road steering. For a toy you have more options like removing the rear anti roll bar and bigger shocks. Front you can get a certain height and you will have issues with your drive shafts, Alex is looking at lowering the diff mount I think, and this should sort this out and give more freedom to the front suspension Ste
