SHE'S HOME!!!!!

hello again all

many thanks for making me feel so welcome.

well i picked her up last night and she is AWESOME!!!!

beautiful metallic green colour, HUGE fat wheels, started first time and drove her from leicester to wakefield at a steady 75 with no problems at all. the previous owner had looked after well mechanically, spending almost £1000 on her last year. shes done 120k miles and been well serviced over the past 4 years.

obviousley there are a couple of issues:

1- slight oil leak
2- soft top totally gone
3- a few rust spots
4- could do with a new bull bar
5- needs a new drivers seat
6- lock on drivers side somewhat tempremental
7- electric mirrors dont work

i have booked her in for a service and wont be driving her until thtas done, but in the meantime i would like to try and tackle some of the other jobs.

can anyone tell me where i would find the paint code? where do i buy paint from? where can i buy a new bull bar, drivers seat and hardtop from?

you do realise i am going to be the bane of your lives from now on!!!! lol

Paint code should be on the little plate in front of the radiator ... and mostly bought at hellfrauds

hardtop's usually found in breakers yards...as with bullbars..

ok, looked at the plate and noted down the numbers. which one is the paint code?

are there online frontera breakers?

ok, i think i have found the paint code - 33U - ? does that sound about right? last number on the plate on the bulkhead.

looked on the paint codes thread and followed the external link, says that 33U is also 33L and 277 which should be caribic blue! car looks green to me!

any tips for when i do start repainting? should i use regular sandpaper? do i need an undercoat etc?

yes there are online frontera breakers .....but i can't remember the web addresses

hmmmm ...painting your truck ....................mine has just changed from white ..to ..black

but if you want to put it back to the original colour ......you need to rub it down with a medium/fine paper then add the colour (several coats) ....then the laquer (several coats) providing a "key" between each coat

Nice ride Red!

Well I went to Halfords and got the paint, havent put it on the car yet but sprayed a bit on some paper and it looks pretty close!

Still trying to find a drivers seat, bull bar & hard top so if anyone knows of anywhere would be greatly appreciated.

hola chaps!

had a good day today. gave her a good clean, removed the bull bar, sanded down 3 of the rust spots and gave them 3 coats of primer each.

will be putting the colour on tomorrow(weather permitting) so wish me luck.
