key remote help

can anyone tell me if you can only buy the vauxhall key remote from vauxhall or is there any where else to get one.

I would think VX only. Especially if they are coded. Think A series use GM15p blanks.

i have the 1999 b series now, and with the docs given me, i have a booklet with the key fob number in it saying keep it safe as you need it to get a new one.

B series are VX only, though why do you need a new one? If it is broken try packing it with some paper (there is a post somewhere about it but can't find it right now) as this will normally fix the loose connections on the battery...
