Only just fixed one fronty thanks to all for help with that but know my fronty sport has a problem.
Ive got a 2.2 16 valve swb petrol 2001 ive noticed the water going down in the radiator it seems to be running above temp, the water disapears but no visual signs of water leakes, the cooling fan is working, ive tried filling the expansion bottle to the very top but the rad will not suck the water back into it to fill it back up. Can anyone shed any light on this prob for me hope so!
Thanks all

Is the water in the bottle milky? can you check the oil level and colour? Can you check the passenger front footwell, right up against the engine bay to see if the carpets are wet or discoloured?

When the car is warm and running get someone to massage all the pipes to and from the rad, expansion tank, to and from the bulkhead for the internal heater, any water hoses you can trace to see if there is a corresponding movement in the expansion tank (hard to describe but the level should surge slightly as you squeeze its pipes ) Also check the drive belt on the from that turns the water pump to make sure its on and tight and turning the pump.

This sounds to me as if it could be one of two possibilities. If there are no visible leaks, then your engine is using the coolant rather than chucking it out. This is usually caused by either a blown head gasket, or a blown inlet manifold gasket. What happens is, in the case of the head gasket, it blows across from one of the water jacket holes to one of the cylinders. The coolant is forced under pressure across the break into the cylinder and it is forced out the exhaust. Rev the engine and see if you can detect any white smoke. this is a sure sign of this problem. The inlet manifold gasket can give a similar sign if the same thing happens here. The gasket blows from the water jacket into the inlet port of one of the cylinders. I hope this is not the case, but I hope this helps with sussing it out. Keith.

If it does look like the head, have someone hold their hand in the path of exhaust gasses and rev to see if they get a damp hand.
