nice to be back or is it???hi girls & boys, first time back since house move over a month with out the internet (and believe me you miss it when you aint got it lol),& a month without me fronty,a new vacuum pump never fixed my brakes but 350 quid & 4 wks later it was found to be a blocked pipe to the vacuum pipe (so no oil getting to it).
i would like to say how nice it is to be back, but now i have more problems with the fronty,i have had problems with it overheating only when towing a trailer or on motorways(where i drive a little bit faster, but still within the legal limit my frontera 2.3 td is a slug in snails clothing ha
Re: nice to be back or is it???My 2.8 was a swine to bleed, left it running for a good half hour, cap off, massaging all sorts of pipes. Got warm heater in the car, but still similar results to you. Then swapped temp sensor for a new one and hey presto, it wasnt hot after all.
So I had 2 issues, confusing me. Perhaps you have the same. Fronty no.4, pimp mobile Treg 3.2 LWB lifted 2.5"
Fronty no.5 2.8 swb hd coils +2" 31"machos.

Re: nice to be back or is it???thanks alex & drift,i have done just like you said alex & as you have said on previous posts that i have read,& thanks drift too,i read that post earlier & checked the aux pump is is not working, but it has been bypassed (not by me,i will replace).so i will have to try a new sender as alex said, just seems odd to me that problems have got worse since i changed water etc,i have been out & tryed to bleed engine again heaters now working but still getting hot,no mayo in oil etc,& i did have an oil & filter change last week before car came outta garage.
i think that the aux pump, being bypassed has been causing it to get slighty hotter on load from reading the posts, but dont you think its odd that its worse since i did the water change???? sorry to go on,just know if i put it in garage tommorrow then the will just replace everything, with out finding fault first lol.....good old garages aint they great my frontera 2.3 td is a slug in snails clothing ha
Re: nice to be back or is it???It could also have an airlock that can compound the pump issue, if your taking it to a garage point them at the pump and get them to do a full rad and engine flush

Re: nice to be back or is it???thought i update you all
today put on an aux water pump that had been bypassed, still getting warm took it to the garage they say try it without the thermostat in,after i took the thermostat out it was worse than ever boiling etc tryed bleeding it no joy, well its in the garage again they seem to think head gasket,so will let you all no,i did ask if it could be temp sensor as alex said but due to the fact it was boiling they think not & on the fronty i found in scrappy someone had beat me to it lol......... gotta say as much as i like me fronty it might have to go this time, cant keep spending hundreds here & there & saw a subara estate for sale today,so i might get it,its gotta be more realible than the frontys turning out to be............. my frontera 2.3 td is a slug in snails clothing ha
Re: nice to be back or is it???well engine has now gone from bad to worse, oil light coming on etc so after another(engine),but i must stress an airlock started this & finshed it.when i brought it there was a new water pump on it etc etc,but always the temp guage creeped at higher speed (over 60,rarely happen cause i usually drive around 55,only noticed on motorways or hills),heater was never great but i got it to work enough,so i think the previous owner tryed to solve the overheating at load with new pump etc,bit like the brakes new servo etc but it was the vacuum pump playing up.i never had any heat coming though the centre dash vents just thought it was normal (how thick am i lol) but the garage messed today & bleed system themselves wooo heat though the centre dash vents,so even though engines knacked i think anyone with heater problems should get them looked at a.s.a.p cause i think that has got to be the where the airlock was (matrix) & now it gonna cost serious money to fix a 14 yr old truck...............
ohh & pick up yours haynes manual & wang it in the fire lol what a waste of time........ my frontera 2.3 td is a slug in snails clothing ha
