Re: your ultimate fronteraIf anyone has one that never needs work then I would just have all the bits from that one
Always said I would never date a high maintenance woman and then I go and buy a frontera and then another after the first one broke!

Re: your ultimate fronteraAlthough the BBB is pretty much now where I want it, that does'nt stop me from day dreaming.
Subject to me having the tools and space, my Ultimate Frontera… it would be built to motor sport standards. The wish list would include (but not limited to): Sport base vehicle Motor Sport specification front roll cage, internal, with door bars. Rear glass panels removed, with a firewall behind the seats. A safety cell fuel tank would be fitted in the rear tub behind the firewall. The roll cage would extend diagonally down towards the rear floor/tailgate area. Tailgate removed and fitted with waffle boards instead. One or two spare wheels fitted vertically between roll cage legs in rear tub. Radiator and cooling fans would be relocated behind the cab on the angled roll cage and perhaps a Series A rear window air deflector mounted on the cab roof to force air over the radiator. Electrical system would be rewired with the fuse box in the cab and all electrical gubbins (control boxes, relays, etc) relocated up high. Pair of competition specification bucket seats with 5-point harnesses. Plumbed in fire extinguisher operable from either within the cab or externally - likewise a battery kill switch. No winch, but a high up steel tubular bumper with lots of front end skid plate protection The rear will have a "buttock lift", with protection and might be bobbed. Lighting left pretty much standard to distinguish it as a Frontera. Minimal additional lighting (due to potential damage), but maybe pop-up roof lights or a lamp pod. Engine would remain standard for reliability, although would be snorkled. Exhaust will be silenced (motor sport has strict noise level requirements) Probably a 2" lift with scrubbed bump stops - again for reliability and ease of sourcing replacement parts. Hey, we can all dream can't we. Lawrence
