yesterday i parked my Frontera lwb in my local tesco when i got out an elderly women pulled up shouted out of her window 4x4 should not be allowed in supermarket car parks i told her that it wasnt a 4x4 when on the road and that it currenly was in 2 wheel drive with this she it was a gas guzler i happend to point out on my vehicle it said 2.2 & on hers it said 2.8 her last comment was if she was a pedestrian and i knocked her down she was more likly to die before i walked off i told her i considered that a bonus.

has anyone else come accross 4x4 prejudice

The bad rep the press, and other organisations are giving us so called 4x4 owners is always going to stick. No more so than down here in the smoke. the congestion charge, 8.00 for a car, but for your 2.8s 25.00 quid.

chelsea tracktors, but to all joe public, your a 4x4 not matter what engine, whether in 2 wheel drive.

It goes with the age old test. : tell someone to close there eyes, and imagine a lovely white horse running through the feilds, tell them to picture it, then after a minute, tell the to open there eyes,
Now you tell them, not to think about the white horse. they cant, its still in there head.

But with global warming, and the more increased weather conditions we have had over the last few years.

I bet when a 4x4 turns up at the door, under 3 foot of water, they dont say no to getting in one to be rescued out of principle. or they get much needed drinking water and food.

mark my words, THE SO CALLED 4X4, we will have our day.

You shoulda stopped.. moaned something about dopey card drivers who dislike 4wd's and then muttered something like wow, aren't you in the AA/RAC.. ya know they are going to charge you £250 to pull you out.. but I'll pull you out for £150 in cash up front!



Never just drive past em, pull up and ENJOY the payback.







I was out one day when someone said something about gas guzzling 4x4's and I turned to the person and said something about my engine being smaller and FAR more economical than their whatever thing it was.. told them my truck was a 2.0 litre (it was at the time) and that they could shove it.. they mentioned something about vehicle taxation, they didn't like it when I told them it was cheaper than theirs!!!

Thusfar I've had no one whinge about it since it's been a 2.8 diesel, but if they do I'll tell em that mine runs on BIO DIESEL and puts out NO EMISSIONS and that they should shut up and get a life..

If someone told me that they'd die quicker if I hit them as a pedestrian I'd tell them that I was a driver, not a bloody magician.. any idiot who steps out in front of ANY vehicle without giving the driver time to stop deserves to die.. pedestrians should LOOK before they leap.
(And NO I'm not saying that all people who die on the roads deserve it, but all too often people step out at pedestrian crossing 3 seconds before a car is about to cross and WONDER why the car couldn't stop!!)

There are far too many bigoted imbeciles out there. It's stereotyping and I REFUSE to be stereotyped.. even by the govt, I refuse to say what my "self defined ethnicity" is when I'm asked on govt forms, or what my religion is (unless there is an option for Jedi!) etc, etc..

It really annoys me that people judge without any further knowledge.

But hey, I get that all the time in my job when people yell out abuse at me, they do not know me, they do not know what I am like. They yell abuse because of what I do for a living. That is wrong.

Social/racial/religious/fashion/automotive stereotyping is WRONG!

Thankfully (touching wood here) Iv never been subjected to any anti 4x4 sentiments. Heading down to London tomorrow with a 16' car transporter in tow so that may alleviate things somewhat.
