Re: 2.0 l sport fuel consumptionhiya mate ...
the best thing to do is give it a good full service .....but realisticaly you won't see much better than the mid 20's for fuel use
Re: 2.0 l sport fuel consumptionThe only thing I would say is that if possible stick to a standard size tyre and think hard before fitting muds as they will eat the juice. I was just getting 27mpg before going to 31" mud tyres and now it seems like I have a hole in the fuel tank.(which I haven't).

Re: 2.0 l sport fuel consumptionhooo i just ordered a set of colway m/t lol never mind ill have to live with it

Re: 2.0 l sport fuel consumptionI used to have a 2.0 Sporty a few years ago and fitted one of those magnetic "fuel conditioner" thingies on the fuel line,I am convinced it made a difference although I am sure many will say they don't work, try it and make up your own mind,it can't do any harm.
Regular services and oil changes are important-don't cheat and leave the old oil filter on,and use a quality oil such as Castrol Magnatec -John
Re: 2.0 l sport fuel consumptionI have nothing to compare fuel consumpion with but my new engine returns about 22mpg round town and 30-33 on a run is this good then?
Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.

Re: 2.0 l sport fuel consumptioni found the best way, to judge my milage, (bearing in mind i live in the smoke) is what i get to the pound, until recently due to fuel prices going up, i was getting 50 miles to the tenner, now thats down to just over 45 miles to the tenner, and thats what i would call around town driving, i always set trip meter, its a good indication on how your doing. so its just less that 20p per mile.
on a run i get around 15p per mile, which considering our trucks are like a brick going through the air, plus there weight and the larger tyres we carry. all in all i had the cavalier which gave same milage roughly around town, but down to 10p a mile on a run, and it had smaller tyres, cut through the air better. so my advice to check if your on the right side, is, as fuel gauge light comes on, stick a tenner in, press your trip meter, and when fuel light comes on, take a reading, do this a couple of times, and you will see what your getting. Just remeber, you wont get the same as saloon car on a run, the fronty has the same shape as a brick, but drives like a feather. sean
Re: 2.0 l sport fuel consumptionHi All, I use to own a 2.0 and although I enjoyed driving it, I would only get around 22 around town, that was the only thing that was wrong with it. ATB. Reeco
Re: 2.0 l sport fuel consumptionAround town ............... About 22 mpg
Motorway (not exceeding 70mph) .............. 26 mpg Thats running with roof lights, snorkel, M/T and a lot of weight in the boot.
