Ok here is my dilemma I need my front brakes doing (Front calipers) sounds easy?? I only have this week to get it done my local garage cant do it till next week. Am tempted to try doing it myself but its brakes and i dont want to mess it up. Question 1 How easy is it to do myself Question 2 Anyone know any garages in Bournemouth or surounds that could help me out. Question 3 Anyone on here got any spare time this week to do it for me (of course payment and as much tea as you can drink will be in the offing)

I have recently changed both front calipers on my truck - one was with the assistance of john m, the other I did myself. Providing everything is free and moves then it really is easy enough to do yourself. I am not mechanically minded at all and I managed to do it

Its not the pads its the calipers, The guy who serviced the car told me the calipers were seized when he serviced them, He managed to free them and greased them up to save me some cash but the car is now very sluggish and there was a smell of burning brake pad on my last trip out.

its a shame you cant get up my way, my garage done mine a few months ago. so he knows the score with it. Unfortunately for me, mine had seized before i got the car, and it blew the rubbers in the master cylinder. as i had a very spongy brake pedal.
but if anyone is up my way and needs a garage quick, i have a good one,

What's your exact location..?
I am off work for only 3 days this week (ahh overtime is necessary evil when it's on offer) but I can pop down and change your calipers for you...
If your in Bournemouth it's about 60 miles from me.. so I'll need to cover the fuel costs and I can come change the brake calipers.
I would suggest getting yourself a new set of pads as well beforehand if you've got them there.
And presumably you have the new calipers already right?? if so, do the pistons move free and easy?
You will need to be present when the work is done... and you will need 1 litre of Dot4 brake fluid.
PM me and we can exchange some details and work out a time.. because my days off are NOT on the weekend this week but I can be there at any time of day.
