lanes around peak districtWent out yesterday 5 vehicles in total did some of the lanes that were in tor the one from step 60 is not an easy lane and if you haven't got lift or are not good a/t's or m/t's youre stuffed. truckosaurs was talking to a old guy who warned us to be careful at the end cause the farmer blocks it if he see's you doing the lane and you have to go back down the way you came not nice. my advice if you want to do it do it now cause its under review cause some muppets have been pulling down the walls to fill in the holes with stone so take some waffle boards. then after lunch the police stopped onthe pub car park and enquired as to where we had been because so many lanes were under review and told us to visit this web site http://www.peakdistrict.gov.uk/vehicles to find out which lanes were ok and not. in his words he's not out to spoil our enjoyment of the lanes but just to make people aware of the problem's of the mindless few who drive to fast and cause problems. but was a cracking day out sorry but no pics due to son number 2 being in control of camera.brachuncky might have a few good pics have to see if he posts any

Re: lanes around peak districtI seriously wouldnt mind getting out to the peak district again, my old walking and clinmbing haunts, all waiting to be driven
Last time laning there I thought it was very busy with mountain bikers and walkers, but some top notch lanes, I really wanna get there and do more as I fear a lot of lanes may dissapeare as the walkers are so powerful in that area, unless by ssome miricale we can convince them we are not the spawn of the devil. Saying that on my last trip we saw many walkers and got nothing but smiles and waves. Ste

Re: lanes around peak districtGot to say all the walkers and bikers we came acroos were ok we pulled up for horse riders motor bikes an slowed down for walkers and did a max 10mph on the lanes which pretty flat so i don't think any one could grubble at us at all.

Re: lanes around peak districtYer it makes all the difference when everyone it is getting and enjoying them selves and there is an understanding of the lanes by other uses.
Its just a shame the minority of walkers cant see this and back off leaving us to enjoy our hobby. Anyway crcking picks and looks like a great day out Ste
