G.L.A.S.S and C.R.AG ?

What are the differences between the two?
I have seen this asked before on other forums but the question is never quite answered as it always seems to fall into a "Im better than you are" by different members, and as a consiquence the thread , rightly so , gets deleted.
I meant to asked your views as a GLASS member at he weekend Lawrence, but hey ho the days lanning beat the subject to the ground

In my oppinion...

GLASS has a good reputation, going back for a number of years (late 90's) where it was formed out of GLOW that was there previously. GLASS has a lot of experience and knowledge and through a quaterly magazine, website and a members discussion forum, share that information freely.

As a member of GLASS, I have received answers to questions I've posted on the members discussion forum, had an article included in the quartarly magazine and visited my local groups pub meet. I've also been laning with another regional group through another member.

In my experience, GLASS members are a good bunch of people, with a relaxed atitude but they do enjoy their lanining and lane clearing activities.

Now then, CRAG, and bear in mind this is my perception. CRAG was formed following an issue in GLASS (the details of which I won't pretend to understand). The members of CRAG that I have spoken with are more "extreme" (extreme is too harsh a word though), in that they are quite vocal and keen to get the name in the public (or at least 4x4) eye.

CRAG appear to be quite proactive in re-establishing their individual relationships they had with local councils as GLASS members, and have a number of lane maintenance projects on the go.

To summarise (in my oppinion)
GLASS: Established, Respected, Passive
CRAG: New, Energetic, Proactive

Both groups hold local meetings, have similar joining fees, web discussion forum and an on-line lane database.

To find out more, might I suggest you visit their websites listed above, and visit a local meeting of each that is active in your area - you should then have enough information as to which you might like to join.
