code readers i have seen code readers on ebay i was wondering if they are any good also if any1 has bought a code reader and was happy with it please let me know the make of it thanks..

Most of the code readers are base don the same chips - so little difference between them.

What does make a difference is the software !

The foreign stuff that caomes with a lot of these ones on ebay is absolute rubbish.

Have a look here - the software is very good and they do a full range of different readers.

They are very helpful - I bought a ELM327 for them to read my Isuzu ECU on my Frontie and I can't fault it - shows all sorts of readings as well as fault codes with the Engine Check software.

As far as im aware the frontera ‘B’ never adopted true OBDII compatibility.
So most of the stuff you see on the bay will not work properly with them.
(the sellers list them as compatible as ISO OBDII was adopted from 1996, world wide GM in the states too, but in the UK, GM only played at it, its changed now as they have moved to the CAN BUS spec for most things flowing off the production line.
So it sure would be superb to here of any success with cheapo scan tools, and interfaces.
