Sorry to hear of your cover being pinch, thieving gits, sadly this is all to common.

I have removed my spare from the rear as it is attached to the door and the heavy wheel was ruining the already damaged hinge.

But I always have preferred them with out the wheel.

I did have a notion the wheels acted like mini parachutes on the rear, but its unproven :lol:
