With only 39000 miles, I think I will keep it for a few years making sure I change the fuel filter every 3000 miles

Im a petrol owner but I suspect its because the injection pump needs to be set up properly. The timing has to be set or some such. Dont think its like a petrol where its just a pump. Pretty sure I saw a post on here about it some time ago.
From what I remember from my tractor fixing days. Thy had to be worked on submerged in diesel and the internal clearances where in thousands of a millimeter
