After reading a few other posts i thought that might be the case.
Like i say it gives me a few seconds to put the key in the ignition and if i do it intime theres no problem.
My son in law went for a spin the other day and i told him about it...anyway he opened the door, jumped in messed around adjusting the seat and the alarm went off..He was even trying to start it but the immobiliser was working.
I found if the alarm does go off and you are sat in the car..turn the ignition off...Open the door..turn the ignition on again and then close the door and all is fine.
Many thanks for your help

Same in mine if the alarm goes off. I am surprised that yours starts without the fob thing. Unless you dont have an immobiliser. if i dont flash the fob unit across the receiver the car just doesnt start.
