Hey driftwood,
I camped at Grinlwald (spelling) (under the north face of the Eiger Switzerland) in April 1999 on a very cheep trip to Switzerland. Man, that was a bit chilly, but no problem camping So camping in Britain should be no problem[/u]
I'll be camping at Driffield the last weekend in October !
I've camped in November before in south Wales and also February when we had to break the ice to get at the water to make a brew. "Character building" I think they call it. Lawrence

LocationHi there
yes that map is quite accurate, I do not know the name of the quarry or the farm it's up a dirt track i know how to get there if you want to meet at a pub somewhere, I don't live to far away. It's a very difficult place to explain. The fact that it is free is a bonus I might bring my quad, show you guys how to get really dirty!!
During the week is better as they hold events in winter on a Sunday in the top quarry. Andrea
