I think really if you haven`t been to the other meets(annual) you shouldn`t comment really, these were organised by enthusiasts for the club, and these folks put a lot of time and effort and own money doing this, and I now believe the Admin/ mods are realising this, it ain`t easy.Just out of interest Bikerbarney how many meets have you been to that were organised by FOG mods/admin?

There really is no need to be so aggressive. Chill! I could launch into as great an invective as yourself..but whats the point the question has been answered the appropriate date will be posted...There is no need to go threatening Mods -members etc, unless you wish to make yourself (Persona non grata) We are here as a social/tech helpsite and seeing as its purely voluntary whether you contribute to the sites upkeeping(Do You)or not. You are pushing the boundaries a fair old bit as Bikerbarney said

I seem to be missing something here. I thought that previous "Annual meets" had been organised by people on their own bat "rather than as representatives of Fog" as Fog at the time was still setting itself up as a viable forum. Maybe now Fog has the team in place then next year an Official Fog meet will happen?

I think you should check your info, FOG has been going for several years, and was originally(and still is) on the yahoo site aswell. You are partially correct that "normal" members did set up the annual meet firstly with the then owner`s blessing (Joe Paradas), because I believe there wasn`t a plethora of admin/ mods.

Yes I have contributed to the forum... We all work bikerbarney, I also run my own website/forum not to mention moderate on other forums plus do 2 jobs, so I know what its like to lead a busy life.

So far I have been on only 1 meet that was organised by a Mod on here (Trugga) the rest of the meets I've attended (Almost 1 a month since April) have been set up by members of this forum or by other clubs.

The whole reason I bought the subject up was for those people that DON@T have alot of time so we can get things sorted so THEY can find time to go to this meet..... If the people running this forum haven't got the time to do these things then I'm quite happy to sort them out giving up my free time to do so.

Even to the point that I would be quite willing to host the forum on my own server that I pay for.....I am allways ready to pop along to help out local members if they need a hand they only have to PM me to ask.

So what more would you like me to do ?????

In point of fact the meet this Sunday Fuddy Mucker organized as he started the topic and put the question to the other members. The idea to move the meets around the area was discussed by all at the last "pub" meet so we can get other areas involved.

There you go then, the event at Stainby was organised by FOG members, not admin/mods. Farley quarry is organised by Richard Walsh(4X4 funday) not even a FOG member.I agree with you all had fun, and this is usually what happens at all meets, but don`t knock members for trying to do meets who are not admin/mods.I`m sure when Pete took over the mantle of FOG owner and the annual meet was bought up, if he had had a problem with it he should have said so at the beginning and nipped it in the bud.If I owned a group and normal members offered to set this up and run it and pay for things outof their own pockets I would have been mighty chuffed.
the annual meet promoted FOG, it was mentioned in TOR, trophy`s etc were all engraved with FOG on, marshall`s and first aiders carried FOG stickers on their vehicles.
Please don`t knock members for trying to spread the FOG word

I dont know where the notion that Members cant organizes meets came from, I whole heartily encourage it.
Why restrict it?

Mods and Admin are here to Moderate the site and Administer the website.

If any of them set up a meet so be it, because they are a Mod or Admin gives no special privalages.

So why all the grief ?

When a meet is set up you want to go on, sign up and go and enjoy, leave the politics out of it.

I dont know what relavance this has on here but that was June this is October.

Sorry Dave, this years annual had no organizational input from any Admin or Mods on FOG

At that point we didnt have input, we dont rule or have overall authority over this .

Now all I can see are petty snipes at Admin and Mods, very childish really.

I think I can see what people are getting at - rather than :
Red Oktober wrote:sorry niftie ....all in private quarters

I think Niftie was perhaps asking for a more open discussion where user (not admin / mod / whatever) input has always organized and run these events in the past.

As i and drift has allready stated .....we do not have any details to be discused ...even within private quarters

If there were any details to be discused then they would be out on the public forum for all to see ....

Now Please can we put a stop to this .......

Then perhaps a topic should be posted for people to air their views and ideas on a potential annual meet would be the way forward?

Then everyone can add to it once they have had their private discussions?

of course it should :) I was only suggesting a nice big poll or discussion topic to be started on the matter - nice and clean that way, keeps all the moody posts out the way of the real business : a big AGM :)
